Azadi Records is proud to present 'Kaalai', the debut EP by Mumbai-based Tamil hip-hop artist Rak. The self-produced project is a deep-dive into the experiences of Mumbai's Tamil community - one that doesn't shy away from vividly portraying the tough choices and circumstances that govern life in the area. Rak's uncanny ability to juxtapose gritty, sinister soundscapes with traditional polyrhythms makes for a captivating listening experience. Tracks such as 'Lokal Kaiyye' and 'Crazy MF' pay homage to the people and culture that have had an influence on Rak and showcase his ear for forward-thinking, club-friendly bangers.
